The course includes the historical development of American literature from the Colonial period to the 20th Century. It combines a carefully selected collection of short stories, essays, poems, and plays, with a comprehensive guide to writing essays and reports. Additional books, magazines, encyclopedias, and other reference materials may be required to fulfill written requirements.
