Description: Students read short stories, poetry, drama, biographies, and essays about people and places in other countries in this course. Themes help students bridge the gap between their own and other cultural and historical contexts. Expanded sections on contemporary, European, African, and Asian literature enrich students’ perspectives of today’s global society. Stories from the past and present are presented with equal enthusiasm. Additional books, an encyclopedia, and other reference materials may be required to fulfill writing requirements.
